The Studio
The Studio
The studio is on the ground floor of this old 19th century building. Here in this quiet oasis you can try at your leisure any instrument from a well chosen selection both old and new. Most instruments and bows are available for a 2 week trial period, you need only pay for the insurance which is refundable on purchase. A good range of cases, strings and accessories is held in stock. The studio is open Tues - Fri from 9 am until 5.30 pm, and Saturday mornings from 9am until 12.15 pm, ( closed daily between 1 and 2 pm) and it is advisable to telephone for an appointment in advance.
The Workshop
Upstairs, Brian Cohen has his workshop. For over 30 years he has used these benches and tools to make and restore, while many of the tools have been used for instrument making for over 150 years, and are still as good as ever.
