SoundPost is a specialist stringed instrument shop- (we are the 'original Soundpost')- established since 1972. We stock and sell from the shop or via mail order, or via this website, a range of strings for many types of instruments. Our product knowledge and experience is second to none. We have sourced internationally and stock and sell only high quality 'branded' products. Call to discuss your specific needs and suitability of any string for your instrument.

NOTE: All string lists and prices are currently not shown on this site, while we hold our clearance sale: This does not mean we do not sell strings, We certainly do! but it means we are revising our price lists, and clearing excess stock, so do call for some amazing bargains which can be be had as of 3rd Jan 2012, while stocks last. The revised listing will be up when the sale is over, in the meantime call or e-mail for the best price possible for any strings in stock.

We offer a mail order service, and we fit strings at no extra charge if purchased in person in the shop. This also gives an ideal opportunity to detect and discover any immediate and obvious problems with your intrument, for example difficult pegs, sharp edges at bridge or nut, all causes for prematurely breaking strings. On-line purchases may appear easier, but the personal service we offer cannot be matched online. We can also offer advice on the best type of string and correct tension for your instrument. ( All smaller sizes of string always held in stock.)
Please remember that some apparently low-priced on-line string sales may in fact be for counterfeit products.
Please Note: Our prices include VAT- many other apparently cheaper prices advertised do not always include VAT, so when making comparisons, bear this in mind please. For most mainland UK addresses we charge a flat fee of £5 per consignment and all strings are sent via 1st class recorded or special delivery. For postage on straight strings in tubes, £2.50 extra, and for postage to all non UK addresses, please enquire. Please check postage charge before purchasing. Minimum purchase for strings £10.

We do not stock unbranded products of inferior quality- Hopefully you will find what you are looking for- this site is the new re-designed SoundPost simplified site, so if you do not find it easy to use, please contact us and say so- we will try to improve it- your feedback will be welcomed.
We try to hold all the products listed in stock- But if any item is not in stock, order time is often 'next day', or at most usually only 2-3 days.
Not all products we stock are listed on the site however- so if you do not find what you want, call and ask- we may well have it, or know where to get it and can order for you. We are always pleased to discuss and advise, and give you the best advice on the strings most suitable for your application.
