• Condition Information-

  A good Concert guitar from this most famous of makers, made in turn by the workshop foreman and most famous maker, ie Paulino Bernabe. Spruce top . Neck of cedar, with no central spine as appears in later JR guitars. Correct original label, stamped PB on the internal block, and in good playing order.

  Condition- Table in good condition, there are 2 very small cracks in the lacquer only on treble side near fingerboard, see photos for details. The table has been refinished and has no nail marks or damage. Ribs with long cracks in the lower bout on both ribs, running across the bottom block- these have been repaired, internally supported, and are structurally together now. Ribs also refinished, with a thick lacquer, which shows signs of broad shrinking. Back 2 piece, but with 3 long cracks and 4 shorter cracks- all repaired internally, and the whole re- finished in thick lacquer, and slightly coloured down to disguise the cracks- again the finish is showing broad shrinkage. The detailed photos show extent of damage. Neck good, as is the head- the fingerboard is original, and the guitar has been refretted, and probably the fingerboard is a little thinner now that in 1963. Action good, if low, but the guitars plays clear and well, with a good strong even tone. New replacement machine heads of poor quality.

• Background Information-

  Bought from a French player, this is a good playing guitar, which has some considerable collectors value due to the rarity of Ramirez Spruce topped models. While it is not in the finest original condition, all information as to its condition is disclosed above. We would not try to describe it as perfect when it is not- that would be to waste everyone's time- however, from a playing point of view, it is a good guitar. If in doubt as to any detail, please ask- we can always try to do better and more detailed photos .

• Price: If it were in perfect condition in excess of £8000- But for this one, your best offer will be considered, incl. case. If you 'push the right button' it will sell. So please make a bid ---P/Ex not possible on this guitar.

• Any guitar can be sent out for approval, for a 48 -hour period after receipt. However, all freight charges, inwards and outwards, must be borne by the client, payment must be in full in advance, and evidence provided of insurance for the journey. Funds will be refunded in full, provided the guitar arrives back in the shop in the same condition as when it left. If these conditions are not met, then the guitar will be considered 'Sold'.
