Detail of a guitar built in 1998, showing a unique rose pattern used for each guitar, but always with 'long grain' showing for the central motif, a very difficult technique used almost exclusively by Brian Cohen, which makes the rosettes very reflective. This technique was used by Torres in only one guitar, but has been perfected by Brian Cohen over many years.

Brian Cohen is a world renowned maker of fine classical guitars.
- His guitars are made to the individual specifications of each player, but models recommended are based closely on those used by Torres and Hauser 1.
- These guitars are truly handbuilt in the traditional Spanish method. No moulds are used, giving flexiblity to the model, only natural glues and finishing materials are used, with great attention to detail, weight, tuning of the wood itself prior to assembly, resulting in guitars with clear trebles and rich warm basses, and balanced evenly over the entire range.
- Only the finest woods are used in their construction ( Spruce for the tables, Cedar by special request) together with the best quality machine heads by David Rodgers. All materials are chosen for acoustic qualities, and a large stock is held at all times to guarantee mature stable wood only is used in construction. Wood for tables is split from the log, to ensure maximum grain length.

- Flamenco guitars, 8 string guitars, 10 string guitars, requintos, 19th C style guitars (Panormo / Lacote models) etc can all be constructed to order.
- In addition, steel string 'acoustic' guitars in the traditional Martin style can be constructed, with decoration to customer specification. Please enquire for specific information on these guitars.

Guitar built by Brian Cohen 1999, taken from an original Torres, no. FE 08. The original guitar is regarded as Torres' masterpiece, made specially for exhibition. ( This copy contains over 92 feet of handmade double-herringbone purfling, and over 100,000 individual wood inlay blocks set in the complicated geometric pattern on back, ribs and table)
