Original Titebond Aliphatic resin glue available now, 8 oz bottles, £4.75 plus postage. Bow hair available ( best quality unbleached Mongolian mare's hair), black bass bow hair, 5m lengths of special tying-off thread, old matured pernambuco bow blanks, for a price on any item please ask. Strings

SoundPost holds in stock a comprehensive range of strings at very competitive prices. All major brands in stock, in all sizes. A mail order service is available. Classical guitar strings sets also held in stock. All strings sold under the 'S.D. L' scheme, which means they are already discounted. Minimum order £5. We constantly monitor other retailers prices to ensure we are the most competitive.

Prices / Policy

All prices of strings sold from Soundpost over the internet or via mail order are discounted to the lowest UK price- Some cases and accessories are also discounted, we hope to be the most competitive in the UK. NO surcharge for credit cards. If you come in to the shop personally, strings are sold at RRP, but the strings will be fitted FREE on request, which also provides a good opportunity to pick up any underlying problems your instrument may have- (e.g. why the string has broken in the first place), all this at no extra charge to you We also have free customer parking . Cases can be tried out to check for fit, hence the slightly higher 'shop' price in some cases. Chinrests can also be tried out prior to purchase.

Fiedler BackPack system for cello cases in stock now- this superb rugged system can be attached to most cello cases, and is the best and most comfortable system available anywhere. (Prices as per Cello Cases page) It can be fitted here in the workshop for an extra fitting charge, but it is not too difficult to fit yourself. The system fits mostl glassfibre or carbon/kevlar cases, incl the BAM range etc, also many foam-cored case, for example Hiscox. In stock now. SoundPost has a large selection of accessories including music stands, metronomes, cleaning materials, incl. special waxes, string cleaners, varnish cleaners, as well as a good range of shoulder rests, carbon fibre cello endpins and many other unique quality products. Also now in stock are the Danish double bass trolleys/stools, and a new trolley suitable for cello cases, unique to SoundPost, for example the Milo Musicians Stools and many other products. Alexander Accessories Chinrests

SoundPost is the only UK retailer to hold these top quality items in stock 'over the counter'. We do supply via mail order, but is is often best to bring in your violin and have any model fitted properly to try for comfort. Mail order and internet cannot do this! Now in stock are carbon fibre cello endpins - these come in three different versions, one by Bois d'Harmonie, as photographed above, with cones in rosewood, boxwood or ebony and solid rods, uni-directional, at £90 unfitted. Our own version comes with a resin cone, in varying sizes to fit your cello, with either solid uni-directional rod at £85, or with a hollow tube, precision-ground to finished size, which is both lighter and more rigid due to a different internal lay-up of the carbon fibres, at £90. We also now stock the 'Bender' endpins, which are engineered from very light alloy, with a knurled locking ring, very easy to use, and a good positive locking grip on the rod. The carbon tubes are very light, very rigid, and they come in three cone sizes, to accomodate your exisiting cello socket- they also have a very fine thread, to 'screw' into the block, to give maximum contact betwen cello and pin for ultimate resonance transmission. Price unfitted £90. Also these endpins save approx 2/3 rds the weight of a conventional steel pin, and give better resonance transmission. ( Carbon rods and tubes are the way forward, but beware of 'budget' tubes/rods which are not laid up accurately, and of poor general quality. These will flex unduly and crack eventually.) Ours are all from reputable sources, manufactured to the highest standards. All carbon tubes must have a clamp which grips the round around its girth rather than exert pressure on a point, ie with a conventional screw, this will 'point load' the rod, and crack it. So it is recomended to use the cone with internal clamp supplied, in any of the 3 versions detailed here. Length of all rods/tubes 60 cms.
